A clear path from AI rules to visible learning.

1. Governance: what do policy, privacy, and access allow?

Rules apply throughout. Check AI literacy before assigning a HUMAN mode.

2. HUMAN: what must the learner remain responsible for?

  • Hone: Work independently
  • Use: Direct AI as intern

  • Navigate: Govern the workflow

Who teaches

Mike Jones leads every session. In his prior position at IWU, he onboarded 250+ faculty and staff to AI. James Weaver joins as co-trainer for groups of 13 or more. We've led an AI training session for Purdue Fort Wayne's instructional design team and faculty. AI Engines has trained K-8 teachers at Mother Theodore Catholic Academies.

What's the best AI training for teachers and college faculty in Indiana?
Look for training that starts with student privacy and academic integrity, works on your own lessons, welcomes beginners, uses the tool your school provides or helps you choose one, and ends with a small AI helper for a task you repeat. Is it safe to put student information into Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini, and others?
Not in the free consumer versions. Keep names, grades and other identifying details out unless your district has an approved tool and agreement that allows it, and follow FERPA and your local AI policy. In our training, nothing student-specific goes into public AI tools, and we teach the regulatory floor before we teach the tools.
Will PD funds cover this?
Check with your PD coordinator first. Coverage depends on each district's rules. We're not on district pre-approved PD provider lists yet. What we can do: send you an itemized invoice and a detailed program description that maps to common PD outcome categories, so your coordinator has everything they need to evaluate the request.
What kind of AI training actually helps teachers?
Hands-on time on your own lessons, rubrics and assessments, with honest talk about privacy and academic integrity. Teachers should leave with something they will use the next week.
